The night swallows us whole,
As we sink into the wet grass.
All falls silent,
Our thoughts, tipping the balance of any cry.
Passed back and forth,
Our laughter fills the night air.
Trees engulf the sky,
beautiful as ever,
and the clouds move in.
I lend you an arm to lay upon,
Ocassionally passing glances.
Your eyes, darkened with light,
Fall upon mine,
With a hint of a smile locked on your face.
I hold still for a moment,
and space caresses us,
as we share the night.
